Stepping back from the micro into the macro, the mass of the universe is 75% hydrogen, 23% helium, and 2% of all the heavier elements. And a lot of activities that involve these matter would pertain to their burning in nuclear furnaces called stars.
For sure the physics and chemistry of nuclear fusion in stars is amazing. But on the other hand it would appear that that process when compared to what goes on under our skin would appear drab.

Nice nuance about corrolating cosmological processes to the cellular level, since much work has been done in how there is in fact interrelation. There is an affinity of the body to nature, and so much we do not yet know.
On a related subject,viruses invade cells most of the time by boring into them. Although some viruses can trick a cell into letting the virus into it, a way to treat harmful viral infections would be to study at the nano level how a virus bores into a cell in order to invade it, making the cell into a viral "factory". Serious research into how viruses are deploying a boring mechanism is under way:
